Code of Ethics 


1.    We will promote a high quality, safe, nurturing and healthy environment which helps  children develop self-confidence and trust in themselves and others. 


2.    We will use developmentally appropriate daily experiences/practices that promote each  child’s social, emotional, cognitive, creative and physical developmental needs.

 

3.    We will advocate for each child observing the child’s development and learning; to  identify children who may need additional services. Working collaboratively with  community service providers.

 

4.    We will recognize and respect each child’s unique interests, abilities and potential,  regardless of race, religion, gender, appearance, behavior or beliefs.

 

5.    We shall demonstrate a pro-active approach toward child abuse; meaning we shall be  familiar with the symptoms and know the protocols for addressing them.


6.    We will make a continued effort to improve professionally through education, training,  and workshops. Encouraging and supporting co-workers/colleagues in meeting their  professional goals.

 

7.    We will create and maintain an open and positive relationship with each child’s family,  in mutual trust, confidentiality and privacy.

 

8.    We will respect each parent’s role and the decisions they make for their children, along  with their culture, language, customs, values and beliefs.

                                                                                                                             

9.    We will work in partnership with co-workers/colleagues ensuring trust, respect,  confidentiality and cooperation between each individual.
